COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING BUREAU
The Community Policing Bureau is responsible for the delivery of professional police services that provide for the efficient handling of calls for service, response to emergencies, preventive and directed patrol, traffic enforcement, crash investigation, preliminary criminal investigations, safety and control at special events, problem-solving, and partnerships with the community.
Major Objectives
Improve the quality of service provided to both the public and other divisions through team building and community partnerships.
Improve the sense of safety and reduce the fear of crime in the City through effective patrol techniques and pro-active problem solving.
Maintain an acceptable level of responses in the handling of all calls for service, and focus on dealing with and resolving the underlying problems that lead to crime and disorder.
Improve vehicle and pedestrian safety through selective traffic law enforcement and the adult school crossing guard programs.
