City of Miramar festival celebrates music, culture & cuisine from African Diaspora & Caribbean
The City of Miramar has announced its lineup for the 3rd Annual Afro-Carib Festival (ACF) happening on Saturday, February 25, 2023, 5pm-11pm ET at the Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater located at 16801 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, FL 33025. The Afro-Carib festival, presented by Visit Lauderdale, is where Black History Month meets Reggae Month, and will celebrate the blended cultures that evolved through a shared bond rooted in African origins. These powerful bonds have manifested to create a people rich in music, culture, and cuisine. Ticket holders will enjoy live performances by a carefully selected roster of unique, soulful artists representing reggae, afrobeats, reggaeton, salsa and more musical genres from the Caribbean and African Diaspora.

The 2022 Afro Carib Festival will again be hosted by Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis and will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 6pm-11pm at the Amphitheater at Miramar Regional Park- located at 16801 Miramar Parkway. Gates open at 5 pm.
Tickets starting at $15 are now available on Ticketmaster. Parking is $10.

THE AFRO CARIB FESTIVAL COMES TO THE MIRAMAR AMPHITHEATER
Artists Capleton, Stonebwoy & Amara La Negra Performed in celebration of Black History Month and Reggae Month
The City of Miramar’s Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis hosted the Afro Carib Festival at the Miramar Amphitheater on Saturday, February 29, 2020. This signature event was part of a month-long celebration of Black History Month.
Commissioner Davis stated at the time, “We are so excited to be hosting the first Afro Carib Festival right here in Miramar. February is Black History Month, and it also happens to be Reggae Month. We have put together an artist lineup that is exceptional. We are fusing the different genres of music from the African Diaspora, and we hope Miramar residents and visitors from all over can come out to enjoy great music at a gorgeous venue.”
Headliners at the Afro Carib Festival included reggae sensation, Capleton, Afrobeat artist Stonebwoy from Ghana and Amara La Negra. They were joined by Julien Believe and Jay Shep from the Bahamas, gospel-reggae singer, Soné and the Gutta Twins from Jamaica. Miramar’s own Tone C also performed. The event was hosted by Yvette Marshall and Lance-O of Kulcha Shok Muzik with DJ Mikey Mike.
The festivities included food trucks offering multicultural cuisine, local vendors and much more. Event sponsors included Aetna, Workspace Property Trust, WZOP/WZPP Radio and CES Consultants.
The Afro Carib Festival was free to the public with a $10 parking fee benefiting United Way’s Hurricane Dorian Fund & Food for the Poor.
